We're excited to be bringing the second annual Mucha Cultura: Día de los Muertos community celebration presented by Jonah Platt, Jewtina y Co., NuRoots LA, and Pico Union Project. Join us for a meaningful afternoon celebrating the beautiful parallels between Latin and Jewish traditions of remembrance, tradiciones para recordar. This community forward, family-friendly event for all ages will explore how both cultures honor and remember loved ones who have passed.

Experience the vibrant colors and customs of Día de los Muertos, from mariachi and folklórico performances that enliven the spirits to building a community ofrenda, an altar to memorialize loved ones, alongside Jewish traditions like placing stones on gravesides and yahrzeit observance, lighting candles on the anniversary of a loved one's passing.

Through interactive activities, storytelling, music, and community building, we'll discover the universal language of love and memory that transcends cultural boundaries for the Latino/e community, the Jewish community, and the Latin-Jewish community.

This is a welcoming, inclusive gathering for families of all backgrounds who wish to learn about and celebrate these rich traditions of remembrance, and to connect with a vibrant marketplace of Latino and Jewish artisans, small businesses, and organizations.
